Date Sold 12/14/2014Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Thirty-Nine Steps, the classic 1935 Alfred Hitchcock English London romantic kidnapping murder mystery espionage spy crime thriller ("Handcuffed to the girl who double-crossed him"; "The 'Monte Cristo' hero.. The Man who put the Man in roMANce"; "Directed by Alfred Hitchcock Director of 'The Man Who Knew Too Much"; "A hundred steps ahead of any picture this year"; from the novel by John Buchan; perhaps Alfred Hitchcock's best movie ever; there are too many wonderful plot twists and clever moments to describe here, but everyone should see this excellent movie!) starring Robert Donat, Madeleine Carroll, Lucie Mannheim, Godfrey Tearle, Peggy Ashcroft, Gus McNaughton, Jerry Verno, and Wylie Watson NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that it is incredibly rare that a wonderful movie has a lobby card that shows the most key scene of the movie (and this is even less true of a mystery, where that key scene reveals a key plot twist from the movie). This is that rare case where this card is all you could possibly ask for from this wonderful movie, because it is from the wonderful scene (*SPOILER ALERT*) when Godfrey Tearle says "Sure it wasn't this one?"! Condition: very good to fine. There is a pinhole in the left corners and in the lower right corner, and a fourth pinhole in the right of the top border. There are two tiny dot stains in the upper left blank border and the absolute most minor of other border wear. There is slight darkening on the back of the top center of the card, but it has no effect on the front. Other than the above, the card is in truly wonderful condition (in some ways, it seems like it was printed yesterday, but it is nearly 80 years old, and it was just stored incredibly). Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
