Artist: Franciszek Winiarski Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had a 10" tear near the middle of the top border, with a 1" tear coming off of part of that tear. It had a 3" tear in the left of the top border and a 5" tear in the left of the bottom border (see our image). It had some very tiny tears and tiny paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
