He was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art, founded Interview Magazine, was the author of numerous books, managed and produced the band Velvet Underground, and his studio, The Factory, was a famous gathering place for celebrities and artists. He passed away in 1987 at the age of 58. Warhol had had gallbladder issues, which he delayed getting treated as he was scared of hospitals and doctors. Because of a previous murder attempt, as well as his age, the 'routine' surgery had significant risks, and Warhol died in his sleep after suffering from an arrhythmia. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Andy Warhol! Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who has been a major movie memorabilia dealer from the 1970s on. During that time, he would regularly purchase collections of movie memorabilia from both dealers and collectors, and in some of those collections he purchased autographed items. Both we and our consignor feel it is extremely likely that the autograph on this item is authentic, but he does not have a certificate of authenticity. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. Condition: very good. The inside of the dust jacket has been clipped (where the price was). There is a small tear in the top of the dust jacket and some faint scuffs scattered on the dust jacket.
