Sylvan Simon World War II (WWII) military comedy ("Based on a story by Lawrence Kimble and Cyril Hume"; this was an attempt by MGM to recapture the big successes that Wallace Beery had with Marie Dressler in the early 1930s, but Dressler was no longer alive, so MGM substituted Marjorie Main, another "battleaxe" type; about a crusty old Cavalry Sergeant who resists adapting to the modern army with tanks and other modern inventions) starring Wallace Beery, Marjorie Main, Lewis Stone, George Bancroft, Henry O'Neill, Donna Reed, Chill Wills, and William Lundigan NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had small paper loss at the top and bottom crossfolds and some separation and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds. It had pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but at some point after it was backed, it acquired surface paper loss in part of the left of the top horizontal fold and in part of the top of the vertical fold, and also somewhat in the borders, more so in the upper left border.
