John Wayne saw the performance and signed Pedro to a contract with his production company. He started acting in some movies, and his brother, Jose Gonzales-Gonzales went into movies too. Both brothers played stereotyped Mexican roles and were sometimes billed solely as "Gonzales Gonzales".
