An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Polish Movie Poster (measures 22 1/4" x 32 1/4") (Learn More) La Vieille dame Indigne (released in the U.S. in 1966 as "Bertolt Brecht's The Shameless Old Lady"), the 1965 Rene Allio French slice-of-life melodrama (based on the story by Bertolt Brecht) starring Sylvie, Victor Lanoux, Malka Ribowska, Etienne Bierry, and Francois Maistre. Bertolt Brecht was a German theatre practitioner, playwright, and poet from the 1920s to 1956. He was the main proponent of the genre named epic theater. During the Nazi period and World War II he lived in exile, first in Scandinavia and then in the United States. Returning to East Berlin after the war, he established the theatre company Berliner Ensemble with his wife and long-time collaborator, actress Helene Weigel.
