Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Barkleys of Broadway, the 1949 Charles Walters New York City musical singing-and-dancing theater stage acting romantic comedy ("Joyously together again in MGM's New Technicolor Musical Hit!"; "Two dancing stars go to a gay party... And what looks like romantic trouble ahead!"; "Music by Harry Warren"; "Lyrics by Ira Gershwin") starring Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers (in the title roles as Josh and Dinah Barkley), Oscar Levant, Billie Burke, Gale Robbins, Jacques Francois, George Zucco, and Clinton Sundberg. Note that this was the last of the ten wonderful movies that Astaire and Rogers made together (they made nine of them between 1933 and 1939, and then ten years later, they made this final movie). It now looks great, and most dealers would describe it as "fine (or mint) on linen". We have noted the defects that were restored below (and feel everyone should always do this!). Many collectors would not be aware of the restoration this poster has had unless it was specifically shown to them! Condition: very good. There was small paper loss at each crossfold and two small pieces out of the horizontal foldline (one to the left of Astaire's hat and one beneath his left hand). There were also pinholes and small paper loss in each corner. These defects w. Most of the linenbacked posters we sell were restored by the finest professionals.
