In the war-torn Mediterranean!"; "LADD...in Hand-to-Hand combat...in the war torn Mediterranean!"; based on the novel by Martha Albrand) starring Alan Ladd (in the title role "as Captain Carey, U.S.A."), Wanda Hendrix, Francis Lederer, Joseph Calleia, and Celia Lovsky. It is interesting to note that this movie included the classic song "Mona Lisa", which won the Academy Award for Best Song, and that may be the single most remembered fact about this movie! Important Added Info: Note that this American movie about an Italian traitor during World War II (and the officer who returns after the war to find him) was apparently too controversial and unpopular to be released in Italy in 1950, and it was first released there in 1960! Also note that it is difficult to accurately date Italian posters, and some unmarked re-release posters can be extremely difficult to distinguish from first releases, so please bear that in mind before you place a bid. We used our best information to date this poster, but we can't always guarantee that the Italian posters we sell are not from an unmarked re-release, but this will only prove to be true in a very tiny number of cases. Condition: good to very good. The poster is somewhat discolored as is typical of vintage Italian posters and there are pin holes and some light brown stains scattered throughout.
