An Original Vintage Autographed Contract (measures 8 1/2" x 11"; 2 pages) (Learn More)

Eddie Cantor (born Isidore Itzkowitz) was a comic actor and singer from the 1920s to the 1950s. He performed a little later than Al Jolson, but there were similarities between the two men, and Cantor had very large expressive eyes and was nicknamed "Old Banjo Eyes". He had a very successful radio show in the 1930s. Some of his movies include: Thank Your Lucky Stars, Hollywood Canteen, and Whoopee! There was a movie biography of his life called "The Eddie Cantor Story". He passed away in 1964 at the age of 72.
Important Added Info: Note that this contract has been personally autographed (signed) by Eddie Cantor! The contract is between Eddie Cantor's agent, the William Morris Agency, and the Elmira Lodge of B'Nai Brith, where Cantor agreed to appear in return for a guarantee of at least $2,500, with him getting 50% of the gross receipts from the show (and $1,250 as a down payment).

Note that this signed item (and several others that are in this auction that have this same paragraph on them) was consigned to us by a major movie paper dealer who acquired these autographed items over a period of many years. He purchased them from reputable dealers, and he has compared the signatures to known authentic signatures, and he feels certain that they are genuine.

Condition: very good to fine. The specifics of the contract are stapled to a standard form, which Cantor signed. Other than a few creases, the contract is in nice condition!
