A 1956 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #6 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Virginia City, the 1940 Michael Curtiz Nevada Civil War romantic melodrama ("Everything that made Dodge City great... and more! New Adventure! New Action! New Thrills!"; "The most stirring chapter in America's unwritten history brings you more thrills, more excitement, more action than 'Dodge City'!"; about a Union soldier who escapes from a Confederate prison, and he is sent to Nevada to stop Southern sympathizers from sending millions of dollars to help the South win the war; he meets a beautiful woman on the stagecoach West, and falls in love with her, not realizing she is in league with the sympathizers; when he gets to Virginia City, he finds that the man organizing the money shipment was the head of the prison he just escaped from!) starring Errol Flynn, Miriam Hopkins, Randolph Scott, Humphrey Bogart, Frank McHugh, Alan Hale Sr., Guinn 'Big Boy' Williams, Dickie Jones, and Moroni Olsen

Important Added Info: Note that this re-release set of lobby cards very much demonstrates the changing popularity of movie stars! When the movie was first released in 1940, Errol Flynn and Miriam Hopkins were top billed, and Humphrey Bogart and Randolph Scott received much lesser third and fourth billing. But by 1956, both Errol Flynn and Miriam Hopkins' stars had faded sufficiently that Humphrey Bogart and Randolph Scott were now top billed, and Errol Flynn and Miriam Hopkins received much smaller billing! Apparently, they re-used the seven scene images from the original set, because now highly-billed Humphrey Bogart does not appear in a single scene!

Condition: very good. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
