Helen's Babies, the 1924 William A. Seiter silent romantic family relationship comedy ("Adapted from the world's best seller of fun, love and home life by John Habberton"; about a young man who has vowed to never marry because he doesn't like children, but then he is put in charge of his two very young nieces, and he not only warms to the idea of having children, but he meets a beautiful young lady, played by young Clara Bow) starring Baby Peggy, Clara Bow, Edward Everett Horton, Jeanne Carpenter, and Claire Adams

Important Added Info: Note that first release 1924 movie paper from this early Clara Bow/Baby Peggy movie is incredibly rare. We had never auctioned even a single poster or lobby card from this movie until we received a lobby card in 2017, and that card has now been reconsigned to us, so it is still the only one we have ever auctioned (and the previous owner had the card professionally restored)! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

What IS gelbacking? Learn More

Condition: good. The card had areas of paper loss in parts of the blank borders. It had larger paper loss in the right of the top border, which affected the top of the "ies" of "Babies", and paper loss in the bottom right corner that affected the corner of that border image, and a small amount of the writing below it (you can see the exact condition of this card before it was restored by looking it up in our Auction History, because, as we said above, it is the very same card! Overall, the card was in fair condition prior to restoration, but, as noted above, most of the damage was in the blank borders. A very talented restorer gel backed the card (meaning they backed the card onto a gel material) and they then performed excellent restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the card still exactly looks and feels like an original card (and it is!), with no backing at all. You can see slight signs of the restoration, but the card displays really well! We graded it as "good", because of the restoration required, but we would think many people might grade it higher, if they could not see the "before" image!
