An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style B Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Where Danger Lives, the 1950 John Farrow romantic crime thriller film noir ("Mitchum! Action!"; "Mitchum in action!"; "She's tempting in a penthouse and dangerous in a bordertown dive!"; "Screenplay by Charles Bennett"; about a doctor who falls in love with a girl who has attempted suicide, but doesn't find out that she's married until they become romantically involved) starring Robert Mitchum, Faith Domergue ("latest star discovery of Howard Hughes who brought you Jean Harlow and Jane Russell"; "Hollywood critics call her the screen's most exciting new star!"), Claude Rains, Maureen O'Sullivan, Charles Kemper, and Ray Teal NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Mario Zamparelli Important Added Info: Note that this movie was produced by Howard Hughes, and he oversaw every aspect of the production, as he did with his other movies. He hired Mario Zamparelli to do the posters for this movie and most of the others he produced in the 1940s and 1950s, but Zamparelli REALLY delivered a spectacular piece of art on this three-sheet (and it is not on any of the other posters for this movie), which makes it one of the most desirable posters of the 1950s! We have auctioned three complete examples of this poster over our many years of auctioning, and those have sold as high as $3,057, and we even auctioned the top two-thirds of the poster twice, and one time it auctioned for $2,200! Also note that this three-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfold in the background to the right of Mitchum's ear, and some tiny bits of paper loss in that horizontal fold to the right of the crossfold. There were just a few tiny bits of paper loss at some crossfolds and on small parts of some folds. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. Either before or after the poster was backed, it was displayed, and the reds in the poster have faded slightly. When you compare it to a different example, you can see that the reds in the upper part of this poster are not as "bright" as they should be, and that some of the areas that had some red are somewhat muted. It still displays well, but we leave it to the bidders to decide how they feel about this. This certainly is a wonderful poster and, in spite of the fading, will look fantastic on the new owner's wall Learn More about condition grades
