An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Mickey's Tent Show, the 1933 Jesse Duffy juvenile circus comedy ("The screen's little rascal goes into big business!"; one of a series of comedy shorts with "Mickey (himself) McGuire"; "From Fontaine Fox's Famous Cartoon") starring Mickey Rooney (billed as "Mickey McGuire" AND as "Mickey Rooney and His Gang"; in the title role). Note that this is one of 50 "Mickey McGuire" shorts that Mickey Rooney starred in between 1927 and 1933 (he started when he was only six years old!). After 1933, he had a brief "lull" in his career, but he soon resurfaced as a top teen actor, and it was not long before he moved to the top of the box office in his roles in MGM movies, both in the Andy Hardy series, and in musicals with Judy Garland. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had tears and small areas of paper loss down the vertical foldline and to a lesser extent on the horizontal foldlines. There were pinholes around the edges of the poster.
