Cunha science fiction (sci-fi) hijacked spaceship adventure thriller ("A hair-raising adventure into the unknown"; "Man reaches moon ...a strange and forbidding race ...a giant fiendish Creature"; "Man reaches moon ...A forbidding race ...A giant Creature"; "A hair-raising adventure into the unknown") starring Richard Travis, Cathy Downs, K.T. Stevens, Tommy Cook, Nina Bara, Gary Clarke, Michael Whalen, Laurie Mitchell, Marjorie Hellen, Henry Hunter, Lee Roberts and "featuring The International Beauty Contest Winners" NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was hand censored! Someone at the theater that used this poster thought that the two women on the poster were "too sexy", and they creatively put more dress over them, but oddly they did it with a light green paint that you can pretty much see through! While this is certainly a clear defect, it is also an amazing tribute to the straight laced conventions of the time. Imagine how much time it took for people to hand paint "extra clothing" on these women. Surely they could have protected the world in some better way! Note that we have seen some other posters from this time that had censor paint over sexy women, but we have never before seen it on THIS one-sheet! Note that the film distributor "Astor Pictures" primarily distributed re-releases of major studios in the late 1940s and 1950s, but they DID produce a few of their own movies, including this one. This is from the first release of this movie, and is NOT a re-release! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster has censor paint added (see above). Note that we don't know how difficult it would be to remove the censor paint, or whether it can be removed or only painted over, but our guess is that it can only be painted over. Some would consider this a major detraction, and some might view it as a kind of cool addition to the poster, depending on your point of view! But please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept the poster as it is or are willing to pay to have it properly restored! Otherwise, the poster had fairly minor fold and border wear.
