An Original Vintage Theatrical German Movie Lobby Card #11 (LC; measures 9 1/4" x 11 3/4" [23 x 30 cm]) (Learn More) Natur und Liebe (literally translates to "Nature and Love"), the 1927 Wolfram Junghans, Ulrich K.T. Schultz & Willi Achsel German silent origin-of-the-species fantasy science fiction (sci-fi) evolution documentary (an incredibly ambitious movie, showing the entire evolution of life on the planet Earth, beginning with single cell organisms, and continuing through the ages, showing both animal and plant evolution, with a long section on the origin of man, showing him descending from apes into an ape-like creature, and then on to present day man, with a brief section about what might be coming in the future!) featuring Lisa Benedikt, Siegfried Dietrich, Werner Kahle, Fr. Peach, and Herr Radotzky. Note that this movie is virtually forgotten today, but it certainly is remarkable for its time (it was made just two years after the legendary "Scopes Trial", and in 1927, the evolution of the species was far from accepted universally!), and deserves to be rediscovered! Not only does the section about man descending into apes, sound a lot like the opening section of "2001" (we wonder if Stanley Kubrick saw this movie!), but it was written by Nicholas Kaufmann, who earlier had written "Wege zu Kraft und Schonheit - Ein Film uber moderne Korperkultur" (released in other English-speaking countries as "Ways to Strength and Beauty"), which included a very young Leni Riefenstahl in its cast, and also had nudity in it! It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a country of origin lobby card for this German movie. We have never auctioned anything from this movie before!
