An Original 1946 (from the first release of this movie in Italy) Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27 1/2" x 39 1/4" [70 x 100 cm]) (Learn More) Nabonga (Gorilla), the 1944 Sam Newfield African jungle ape adventure thriller starring Buster Crabbe, Barton MacLaine, Fifi D'Orsay, Julie London (billed as "introducing Julie London"), Bryant Washburn, and Ray Corrigan (in the title role as Nabonga, the gorilla!). Note that this movie was released in England as "The Jungle Woman". Note that Crash Corrigan made a REALLY wise investment in the 1930s, when he bought a "gorilla suit". In many of the movies in the 1940s where there is a fake gorilla, it is played by Crash Corrigan, no doubt because he could supply the suit! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Carlantonio Longi Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Italian poster! Note that this Italian one-sheet measures 27 1/2" x 39 1/4" [70 x 100 cm]. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster has slight discoloration scattered in some areas from exposure to moisture (with a few slightly more noticeable ones in portions of the art of the gorilla). There is small separation and paper loss in the bottom crossfold and it has some creases, tiny tears and areas of paper loss in portions of the outer blank borders. This is the kind of poster that responds really well to restoration. It is likely that many or most of the stains can be removed chemically, and after proper linenbacking with some restoration the very rare poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
