An Original Vintage Theater Display (measures 2" x 16" x 27" [5 x 41 x 69 cm]) (Learn More)

A 1950s metal theater display designed to announce upcoming and current movies and often featuring advertisements from local businesses. Many of these displays were lockable and featured glass inserts to protect the promotional material from the elements when positioned outside of the theater. Some also had clocks, thermometers, and even barometers!

Important Added Info: Note that this display has a thermometer at and it can display an 8x14 poster at top and a 14x22 poster at bottom. There is a lock but a key is not included (the display can still be easily opened by pushing the latch). The USO poster featured in our image measures 14" x 21" and has art by Hayden Hayden.

Condition: very good. The display has some signs of general wear. Several pieces/areas of the item appear to be much newer than from the 1950s (including the back) so some changes or restoration may have been performed to the display (but we cannot be 100% certain). Please see our super-sized images to get a good sense of the condition of these items and bear all of this in mind prior to placing a bid.
