Date Sold 11/26/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Sins of the Fathers, the 1928 Ludwig Berger family relationship romantic bootlegging alcohol melodrama ("Story by Norman Burnstine"; about a man who is a waiter, and he has a family and owns the restaurant, but then he gets a mistress and his wife finds out and dies, and he becomes a bootlegger and is caught and sent to jail after his own son is blinded from drinking his moonshine, and when he gets out of jail, he gets a job as a waiter again, and the movie ends with him meeting his son, who forgives him, and who has regained his sight) starring Emil Jannings, Ruth Chatterton (in her very first movie after a successful stage career, and she has the starring role, and she was 35 at the time), Barry Norton, Jean Arthur, and Jack Luden. Note that this movie was one of the first silent movies to have some sound in it (it had singing sequences and sound effects, but was otherwise silent). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have NEVER auctioned ANY lobby cards for this movie in all of our years of auctioning! Condition: good to very good. The card pictured at bottom was folded back vertically at center at one time and there is some slight discoloration due to exposure to moisture along that crease as well as in the blank border. The other card has a few tiny pinholes at center but is otherwise in pretty nice condition. The cards otherwise have no tape whatsoever on the front or back, and they never have had any restoration of any kind. Learn More about condition grades
