An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Italian Two-Panel (known in Italy as a "4 Fogli") Movie Poster (measures 55" x 76 3/4") (Learn More) Ian Fleming's Goldfinger, the classic 1964 Guy Hamilton English James Bond 007 spy espionage fantasy action adventure thriller ("James Bond is back in action!"; "Everything he touches turns to excitement!!!"; based on the novels by Ian Fleming) starring Sean Connery ("as Agent 007"), Honor Blackman ("as Pussy Galore"), Gert Frobe (in the title role; billed as "Gert Frobe as Goldfinger"), Harold Sakata (as "Oddjob"), Shirley Eaton (as Jill Masterson, the woman covered in gold paint in the film), Tania Mallet (as Tilly Masterson), Bernard Lee (as "M"), Margaret Nolan (as the girl who provides the background for the main titles, the "nude gold girl" on posters, and also as "Dink", one of the Bond girls!), Nadja Regin, Gerry Duggan, Lois Maxwell (as Moneypenny), Richard Vernon, and Cec Linder NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this Italian two-panel was printed in 2 sections and measures 55" x 76 3/4". Condition: good to very good. The poster had creases, smudges, and tiny tears down much of the vertical foldline and a lesser amount on just about all of the other foldlines (and there was a second foldline 1/4" away from the regular foldline next to some of the foldlines). There was some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds. The poster had creases, smudges, and some tears in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. At some point after the poster was linenbacked, it was roughly handled, and the poster sustained some damage. There is an area of tearing and surface paper loss above the "E" of "FROBE" in the credits (in the black area). The left half of the middle foldline has been somewhat "cracked", as though the poster itself was accidentally partially folded back over along that fold, which resulted in some surface paper loss in the right of the solid black area, and a slight amount of surface paper loss across the lower part of Connery's face (just below his nose). There is also surface paper loss in the second "0" of "007" in the title and in the black area beneath it, and in the black area to the right of Connery's credit. I suppose it is possible that a talented restorer can repair this damage without re-backing the poster, but I would think it is more likely (and more desirable that the poster be entirely re-backed). After proper re-backing, this great poster will look fantastic, but there will be some paint restoration scattered throughout the poster (repairing both the original foldline defects, and the new ones), but if the poster is done by a talented professional, it should still display great.
