Date Sold 4/14/2024Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Japanese "B2" Movie Poster (measures 20 1/4" x 28 5/8" [51 x 73 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's The Man Who Knew Too Much, the 1956 Alfred Hitchcock Morocco/London kidnapping spy espionage conspiracy crime thriller ("Alfred Hitchcock's greatest suspense Adventure!"; "The flash of a knife... the crash of cymbals! Cues for murder - excitement - suspense!"; "A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing!"; "Based on a story by Charles Bennett and D.B. Wyndham Lewis"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes") starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart), Doris Day, Brenda De Banzie, Bernard Miles, Ralph Truman, Daniel Gelin, Reggie Nalder, Richard Wattis, Alexis Bobrinskoy, and Christopher Olsen. Note that this is a re-make of Hitchcock's 1934 English film of the same name, but with quite a few differences and it includes Doris Day singing "Que Sera, Sera", which became a huge hit! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this first release Japanese B2 poster, which has a completely different image from that of any other country! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster was folded across the middle only. It has a few other partial folds and pinholes in the corners. It has faint scuffing in Stewart's hair on the right and in the top right area to the left of the Paramount logo, and it would seem that there was once a snipe attached to that area, and the scuffing is from residue from the snipe, but there is no paper loss. This rare poster can absolutely be displayed and enjoyed as it is, as long as one is accepting of its defects described above, or certainly, any talented restorer could perform restoration to it, with or without backing the poster.
