An Original Vintage Theatrical German Movie Lobby Card #38 (LC; measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]) (Learn More)

Der Kampf ums Matterhorn (released in English-speaking countries as "Fight for the Matterhorn"), the 1928 Mario Bonnard & Nunzio Malasomma German/Swiss silent mountain climbing melodrama starring Luis Trenker, Marcella Albani, Alexandra Schmitt, Clifford McLaglen, and Peter Voss. Note that star Luis Trenker is a fascinating forgotten man in the history of film! He started out helping Arnold Fanck on his mountain movies. He became a filmmaker in the 1930s, making movies about how country life was better than city life, and the Nazis wanted him to make movies for them. He moved to Rome and made two documentaries there. After the war, he was accused of being a Fascist, but the charges were eventually dropped and he started making movies again, but before long, he only made documentaries and writing about mountains, his first love. He died at the age of 97 in 1990!
Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" lobby card for this partially German movie! Also note that this lobby card measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm].

Condition: good to very good. There is an embossed censor stamp in the background at lower right. There are creases and pin holes around the edges of the card. The card is otherwise in pretty nice condition, especially considering its age and origin!
