She became a major star in England after the release of Alexander Korda's "The Thief of Bagdad" in 1940. She went to Hollywood, but her agent thought she was a major star and wanted $50,000 per movie for her, and that priced her out of the market, so she only made a handful of movies. She then acted on Broadway for a while, and then married and returned to England. Some of her other movies include: The Spy in Black and None But the Lonely Heart, She passed away in 1984 at the age of 66.
