An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style A One-Sheet Movie Poster (SpanUS 1sh; printed in Spanish in the U.S. for Spanish speaking audiences; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Perils of Pauline, the 1947 George Marshall biographical movie actress comedy ("The LIFE, LOVES and THRILLS of Pearl White, the great serial queen...who dared a thousand dangers to make the movies famous!"; "The wonder show of today about the first wonder-star of the screen!"; "The Whole Spectacular Inside Story of Hollywood's First Queen of the Screen!"; "Her Beauty... Her Love... Her Daring... Brought the Screen Its Greatest Thrills!"; about actress Pearl White, famous star of the most memorable silent serial, "The Perils of Pauline") starring Betty Hutton (as Pearl White), John Lund, Billy De Wolfe, William Demarest, Constance Collier, Frank Faylen, and William Farnum. Note that Pearl White is of course the most famous female silent serial star, but after many injuries from her roles, she decided that she wanted to quit serials, and she turned to "serious acting", but she became addicted to painkillers after a back injury. She retired in 1924 and passed away in 1938, when she was just 49. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet was printed in the United States for use at theaters with Spanish speaking audiences (this was done most by MGM, starting in the 1930s, but it was done by the other major studios as well, and often the posters would have the exact same image as the English language poster, except the writing would be in Spanish, and often there would be an added "Toda en Espanol!", meaning "Entirely in Spanish!", printed within the image). Condition: fair to good. There are scratches at center and there is some discoloration throughout the poster. There is some tattering at the crossfolds and there are tack holes, small tears, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
