He ran for President in 1980 but lost the Democratic primary to Jimmy Carter. Ted was the youngest brother of President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert Kennedy. He passed away in 2009 at the age of 77 from a brain tumor. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Ted Kennedy! Our consignor (who was a diplomat for the U.S. in exotic locations) obtained this autograph either through personal correspondence or from one of the other diplomats she worked with. We are 100% certain that this item came from the person listed, but we can't be 100% certain that they signed it themselves, because possibly a secretary signed it. However, given that they were writing to a diplomat rather than a fan, we think it is far more likely that they would have signed it themselves rather than have a secretary sign it.
