An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) They Made Me a Criminal, the classic 1939 Busby Berkeley romantic juvenile crime mystery thriller ("I am a fugitive... I am hunted by ruthless men! I am shunned by decent women! I am doomed to hide forever"; "From a Novel by Bertam Millhauser and Beulah Marie Dix") starring John Garfield ("The Sensational Discovery of 'Four Daughters'"; "The sensational star of 'Four Daughters'"), Claude Rains, Ann Sheridan, May Robson, Gloria Dickson, The Dead End Kids (including Billy Halop, Bobby Jordan, Leo Gorcey, Huntz Hall, and Gabriel Dell), and Barbara Pepper NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that at this time, Warner Bros. often made their window cards where they had the exact same image as the six-sheet. Because this was a square image, it meant that they had to have a blank area at both the top and bottom of the window card. In the case of this poster, that proved to be a plus, because the image from the six-sheet is a sensational full piece of art, with a dark background, something that was very unusual for Warner Bros to do at this time (many of their one-sheets have only two or three colors, and they often have white backgrounds). Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: good to very good. There are many smudges and scuffs around the edges of the card, including down the right of the image. There are a few dot stains scattered in the card and there is a small stain in the right eyelid of the woman at left. The card has had no restoration on the front. It has a few small pieces of clear tape on the back, and it was once attached to a mat with two pieces of conservation tape on the back of the top corners. Learn More about condition grades
