An Original Vintage Campaign Book (measures 11 1/2" x 15 1/2" [29 x 39 cm]; 128 pages) (Learn More)

20th Century-Fox 1944-45, the special December 1944 issue of 20th Century-Fox's Dynamo magazine. This issue is oversized and has 128 pages, far larger than regular issues. It has "1944-45 Product Special" on the cover. It has no color inside, but is filled with lots of heavily illustrated articles about upcoming Fox movies. Note that this magazine was published in December 1944. In April of 1945, Fox published a much more elaborate version of the same issue, this time measuring 9 1/4" x 12 1/4", but having 162 pages, which included a 50-page color section. It has some of the same material as this magazine, but also a lot of different material. Because of the color section, we call that magazine a "campaign book" (see below).

Note that this magazine is officially a special issue of "Dynamo" magazine, which was a 20th Century-Fox studio publication. We don't know when Fox started publishing this magazine, but since the earliest one we have seen is from 1944 and says "Vol XIV, No. 9", we would imagine it started in the early 1930s. We know that most issues of Dynamo were small (both in size and number of pages) without color, but they made several deluxe special issues, including this one. When these special issues are large with many pages, we call them "campaign books", because they clearly took the place of the studio yearbook that year (and the covers indicate that).
Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned this campaign book before! Also note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the campaign book, and also pictures of one or more interior two-page spreads (but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the campaign book.

Condition: fair to good. The campaign book has small areas of paper loss along part of the spine and in the lower right of many pages. There are also some stains and writing on the cover, and some paper loss in the left corners of the cover. See our images to get a good sense of the condition of this campaign book.
