An Original Vintage French Campaign Book (measures 8 3/4" x 12 1/2" [22 x 32 cm]; 117 pages) (Learn More) Paramount 1929-30, the 1929 French campaign book sent to theater owners to encourage them to show their new movies, which included stars like Clara Bow, Bebe Daniels, Richard Dix, Mary Brian, Clive Brook, Nancy Carroll, and Louise Brooks. At the beginning of the book, they include two pages with small images of their stars, and they include Louise Brooks, but she is mis-billed as "Brokes", although she is correctly billed elsewhere in the book. Note that on this book, they did something unusual. They numbered the right side of every page, but they did not number the left sides, so while there are 51 numbered pages, there are 102 pages, plus some unnumbered pages, which brings it to 117 pages in all, and each of those numbered pages has 16 small images from the film on one side and production information about the film on the facing page. Campaign books in general are extremely rare, but ones from France from before World War II are even more rare, and ones from the silent days are beyond rare!
