An Undated (probably 1941) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Smilin' Through, the 1932 Sidney Franklin romantic love triangle melodrama ("From the play by Allen L. Martin"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; a pretty wacky story of a man whose fiancee was killed by her insanely jealous ex-boyfriend on their wedding day, and years later, the man is now in charge of his niece, who looks exactly like his fiancee, and she is engaged to marry a man who looks exactly like the man who killed his fiancee, and naturally, he does all he can to break them up!) starring Norma Shearer (in a dual role), Fredric March (in a dual role), Leslie Howard, O.P. Heggie, Ralph Forbes, and Beryl Mercer NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that, based on the poster's litho number, we are certain that this re-release took place in 1941. Interestingly, the re-make of this movie (which starred Jeanette MacDonald & Brian Aherne) was also released in 1941. The poster's tagline indicates that audiences wanted to see the older version of the film, and we imagine that both could have been playing at the same time (which may have been very confusing to audiences)! Condition: good. There are tears and areas of tattering and paper loss along the foldlines and around the edges of the poster and there are some creases scattered throughout.
