An Original Vintage Theatrical English Movie Pressbook (English pb; measures 10" x 12 1/4" [25 x 31 cm]; 11 pages). Also included is an ad supplement that has one page. (Learn More) Man Against Woman, the 1932 Irving Cummings New York City police detective romantic crime thriller ("A battle of wits - of strength against beauty - a man's brain against a woman's wiles!"; "Man's weapons against a woman's wiles!"; a wacky story of a detective who falls for a pretty floozy and he ends up losing his job because she causes him to let a crook go free, but after many adventures, he gets his job back and arrests her, but then gets her paroled into his custody where he gives her a wedding ring) starring Jack Holt, Walter Connolly, Emmett Corrigan, Jack La Rue, and Lillian Miles. Note that Jack Holt is a police detective whose nickname is "Strong Arm" because he likes to beat the answers out of the people he interrogates. You don't see characters like that in modern movies very much! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that pressbooks were prepared prior to a movie being released. Often, changes would be made in a movie advertising campaign (billing of actors, different images, etc.), and the theaters would print up special supplements that they would send out with the pressbooks that had already been printed. These supplements are very rare, far more rare than the pressbooks themselves! Some pressbooks would have no supplements, some would have one, and some would have several. Also note that this English pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: good to very good, NO CUTS. There are two punch holes near the center of the spine edge of all pages and there is staining across the top of the front cover, with a few faint smudges and scuffs on the back cover.
