An Unfolded German Special Poster (measures 18 1/2" x 27 3/4" [47 x 70 cm]) (Learn More)

Zeit Im Bild (literally translates to "Time In Pictures"), the 1913 poster promoting a German magazine, and featuring Emil Preetorius art of a smiling man reading an article. Note that Emil Preetorius was a German illustrator and graphic artist from the 1900s to the 1970s. He is considered one of the most important stage designers of the first half of the 20th century. He first studied law and art history, but became interested in art and in 1909, he and Paul Renner founded the Schule fur Illustrationen und Buchgewerbe (School of Illustrations and Book Trade). He became a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 1928 and between 1953 and 1968, he was the president of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Condition: good to very good. The back of the upper edge of the poster has been bordered by tape that slightly bleeds through to the front and there is some writing at lower left and a small ink pad stamp at lower right. It is otherwise in generally nice condition especially given its age.
