An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) A Girl of the Limberlost, the 1924 James Leo Meehan silent romantic melodrama ("See the picturization of Gene Stratton-Porter's popular story"; "Gene Stratton-Porter presents Her own production of her own story"; "With an all star cast"; about a woman whose mother rejected her throughout her childhood because she was born the day her father was killed, and she grows up to love a man who loves another, and she sacrifices her happiness so that he can be happy with his true love) starring Gloria Grey, Gertrude Olmstead, Alfred Allen, Cullen Landis, and Raymond McKee. Note that this movie was a sequel to author Gene Stratton-Porter's "Freckles", and it was remade in 1934 and 1944. Also note that Gene Stratton-Porter was a woman, and that director James Leo Meehan was her husband! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).
