An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Green Pastures, the 1936 Marc Connelly & William Keighley black African American religious fantasy melodrama (depicting a "black heaven", where only black people went after death, as apparently discrimination in 1936 did not end even at the grave; the movie must be seen to be believed!) starring Rex Ingram (as Adam, De Lawd, and Hezdrel), Oscar Polk (as Gabriel), Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson ( as Noah), Myrtle Anderson (as Eve), Al Stokes (as Cain), and Edna Mae Harris (as Zeba) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that lobby cards from this movie are quite scarce, and are rarely offered for sale or at auction. We have never before auctioned this title card, and we have not seen it offered at auction elsewhere (and advanced collectors tell us that only a couple of examples are believed known to exist). Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. The card had tack holes in the corners with circular stains around the holes. There are a few faint scuffs scattered in the card, typical of Warner Bros. linen lobby cards of this period (but it has darkened less and is not at all fragile, which is surprising and great in a linen lobby card!). Someone performed the slightest touch up in the top corners where the stains entered the blue background (without backing the card), but otherwise, the card has had no restoration and it displays really well.
