An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Ebb Tide, the 1922 George Melford silent Tahiti tropical island shipwreck adventure romantic melodrama ("From the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson and Lloyd Osbourne"; a wacky story that was started by Stevenson but completed by his son; it concerns an Englishman shipwrecked in Tahiti, on an uncharted island, and there is a local man there who has grown rich from the pearls they find there, even though he seems to never contact the outside world; of course, he has a beautiful daughter and of course, the shipwrecked captain gets involved!) starring Lila Lee, James Kirkwood, Raymond Hatton, George Fawcett, Noah Beery Sr., Jacqueline Logan, and Donald Crisp. Note that Paramount made another movie called "Ebb Tide" in 1932, but it had no connection to this movie, but they did remake this movie in 1937, with Frances Farmer in a lead role (and there have been several television adaptations in the years since). Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
