An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window, the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) thriller ("The master of suspense brings you his masterpiece!"; "Based on the short story by Cornell Woolrich"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; about a man who breaks his leg and is forced to stay at his home until he's better; during this time he observes his neighbors and does some voyeuristic detective work) starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart; as Jeff), Grace Kelly (as Lisa), Wendell Corey (as Detective Lt. Doyle), Thelma Ritter (as Stella), Raymond Burr (as Lars Thorwald), Judith Evelyn (as Miss Lonelyhearts), Georgine Darcy (as Miss Torso), Jesslyn Fax (as Miss Hearing Aid), Rand Harper, Havis Davenport (Harper and Davenport played the "newlyweds"), and Ross Bagdasarian (as the "Songwriter"). Note that Raymond Burr had appeared in movies for seven years before this, but always had minor roles, usually playing the "heavy". It would be three more years before his big break in 1957, when he became TV's "Perry Mason"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had darkened somewhat, but it was mostly noticeable in the blank borders. It also had small paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds, with minor wear on the folds. It had some pinholes, small tears, and small paper loss around the edges. It had significant paper loss in the center of the bottom border, but fortunately, it only slightly entered the bottom of the image, affecting the bottom of the binocular lens and an area beneath it and to the left of it, approximately 2 1/2" wide, but only about 1/2" at the highest point into the image. The paper loss beneath it was solely in the blank border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was expertly restored by a talented restorer, and it will display really well on the new owner's wall! Learn More about condition grades
