An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Movie Lobby Card #7 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

From Hell to Texas (also released as "The Hell Bent Kid" and "Man Hunt"), the 1958 Henry Hathaway cowboy western ("There never was a man like the kid they couldn't kill... From the Cimarron to the Rio Grande..."; "The West's most savage man-chase.. FROM HELL TO TEXAS"; "Every gun in the territory was hired to kill..'The Hell Bent Kid'"; "Based on the book by Charles D. Locke") starring Don Murray, Diane Varsi, Chill Wills, Dennis Hopper, and R.G. Armstrong. Note that Hollywood legend has it that this movie was the one that caused Dennis Hopper (at the time a promising young actor) to be "blackballed" in mainstream Hollywood for many years. The story goes that Hopper clashed with director Hathaway over how he delivered a single line, and that hours of shooting (with innumerable takes) were wasted, and that finally Hopper delivered the line the way Hathaway wanted, but after that, he couldn't get a job in mainstream movies. Oddly enough, he returned to mainstream movies in 1965 in The Sons of Katie Elder, directed by Hathaway (who apparently forgave him over those years), but of course, his career really took off with Easy Rider in 1969!

Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card has been personally autographed (signed) by Don Murray! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Note that this signed lobby card (and 63 others) comes from the collection of the late Bob Colman, owner of the Hollywood Poster Exchange store in Los Angeles for decades. What made this store so wonderful for collectors was that Mr. Colman sold the legendary "Cozy Theatre" collection, which he purchased (with a partner) in 1968, and it took over 30 years for him to sell the contents of that single collection, and many of the items contained in it were stamped with "Cozy Theatre" on the back, so they are easily identifiable today. But Mr. Colman was also well known for having Hollywood celebrities shop at his store, where they would often look to purchase items from movies they had appeared in. When a celebrity would come in, Mr. Colman would locate a lobby card from his inventory and ask the celebrity to sign it. Sometimes they would personalize it to him, sometimes to his wife, Janet, and sometimes they would simply sign their name. This lobby card comes from the estate of Bob Colman and was signed by the celebrity in his presence, and personalized to Mr. Colman's wife, Janet. We do not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are certain the autograph is genuine (and the lobby card has great provenance)!

As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.

Condition: very good. There is paper loss in each top blank corner and a tiny bit in the left of the bottom blank border. Otherwise, the card is in excellent condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
