An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) I Wake Up Screaming (the movie was made under the working title of "Hot Spot", but was released under that title and as "I Wake Up Screaming" and movie paper exists with both titles), the 1941 H. Bruce Humberstone crime film noir murder mystery thriller ("Three of the hottest names in Hollywood... In a picture that makes the screen sizzle!"; "From the novel 'I Wake Up Screaming' by Steve Fisher"; about a model who is murdered, and the police inspector is sure the sports promoter who helped her get started killed her because she was leaving him, but the model's sister helps solve the murder) starring Betty Grable (in a rare non-musical dramatic role!), Victor Mature, Carole Landis, Laird Cregar, William Gargan, Alan Mowbray, Allyn Joslyn, Elisha Cook Jr., Ralph Dunn, and Dick Rich NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was printed when the title of the movie was still "Hot Spot" (see our description above), and a studio issued snipe was glued over that area. Condition: fair to good. There is a studio issued snipe glued over the original title area. There were many small tears and small areas of paper loss scattered down the vertical foldline, and approximately 1" to the right of the vertical fold. There were a lesser number of small tears and tiny paper loss in the top horizontal fold, with a much lesser amount of wear on the bottom two horizontal folds. The poster has pinholes in the corners and someone put a diagonal piece of tape in each corner where it was attached to a mat. Someone did amateur restoration to the many tears and small areas of paper loss scattered down the center of the poster. They took white paper tape and glued it to the back of the tears and the areas of paper loss and then they amateurishly colored in those areas from the front. The "restoration" is definitely noticeable, but I still think many people could display this cool poster just as it is, and certainly a talented restorer could undo the amateur restoration and properly restore those areas and the poster will look great! But please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly restored! Learn More about condition grades
