An Original Vintage Army Recruiting Poster (measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) I Want You For U.S. Army, the circa 1960s U.S. Army recruitment poster ("Nearest Recruiting Station") encouraging men to join the United States Army and featuring classic artwork of Uncle Sam pointing at the viewer by James Montgomery Flagg. Note that this is a 1960s reprint of the original 1917 poster (but we don't know if that was done by the government or by a commercial company). Surely this is one of the most reproduced poster images there is, and also it is likely the single most recognizable poster image ever created! Note that in addition to creating this in 1917, the U.S. Army re-used this image in subsequent wars, but they slightly changed the background color of the poster and the size for each new version. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: James Montgomery Flagg Important Added Info: Note that this is certainly a vintage poster, printed on a heavy stock that measures 11" x 14". But when exactly is it from? The snipe on the bottom helps a lot, but that recruiting station was active into the 1980s. Our best guess is that this poster is from the late 1960s, probably from when the Vietnam War was active and the U.S. needed new soldiers badly. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good. There is a stained snipe glued to the bottom of the poster and stains around the edges.
