An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Dr. Cyclops (Doctor Cyclops), the 1940 Ernest B. Schoedsack science fiction (sci-fi) mad-scientist-shrinks-people-to-tiny-size fantasy adventure horror thriller ("The picture that was made behind locked doors"; "The thrill of the year!"; "Original Screen Play by Tom Kilpatrick") starring Albert Dekker (in the title role as Dr. Alexander Thorkel), Janice Logan, Thomas Coley, Charles Halton, Victor Kilian, and Frank Yaconelli NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the lettering of the title does not match up correctly. This is because the title falls in the area where the two pieces of the poster join together. This is not a defect in this particular poster, but rather all examples of this poster would have that defect. It was caused because the person in charge of preparing the poster for printing did not pay close enough attention to what he was doing, and so the pieces of the three-sheet are slightly "mis-matched", meaning that no matter how you try to join them up, the lettering is uneven in places. The restorer of this poster did what is normally done, which is to place the two pieces so that there is only a slight mis-match on each side. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some foldlines (more so in the right half of the bottom horizontal foldline and in the bottom 12" of the far right vertical foldline). There were some pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above (a talented restorer could likely touch them up without re-backing the poster).
