The Crowd Roars, the 1938 Richard Thorpe boxing sports romantic crime melodrama ("Better than 'A Yank at Oxford'"; "Screen play by Thomas Lennon, George Bruce and George Oppenheimer"; about a young boxer who gets romantically involved with the daughter of a crime boss, which is complicated by her not knowing what her father does for a living) starring Robert Taylor, Edward Arnold, Frank Morgan, Maureen O'Sullivan, William Gargan, Lionel Stander, Jane Wyman, and Isabel Jewell

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had three large paint letters on the back of the top center, and they slightly bled through to the front in the left and right of Taylor's cheeks, and in the background to the left of his head. Otherwise, the poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and a few tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds, with pinholes around the edges, and some smudges and stains in the white background areas. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The bleed-through in Taylor's face is not very noticeable at all (see our super-sized image).
