An Unfolded Special Poster (measures 25 1/4" x 38 1/4" [64 x 97 cm]) (Learn More) The Lone Ranger is a fictional masked hero created by Jack Wrather in 1933 for a radio show in Detroit. The Lone Ranger was a former Texas Ranger who fought outlaws in the American Old West with his Native American friend, Tonto, and his trusty horse Silver. The radio show was very popular and the character was soon featured in books, comics, TV shows, and several movies (including two serials from 1938 and 1939). The best known incarnation of this character was in the 1949-1957 TV series starring Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was issued at the time that a Lone Ranger cartoon TV series started, so it is possible this poster was connected in some way to that series, but it is also possible that it has no connection other than that there was renewed interest in the Lone Ranger at this time. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good to very good. The poster has darkened around the edges and has a few tiny edge tears. The art of the poster is in pretty nice condition (especially if framed). Learn More about condition grades
