An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Yakima Canutt was a stuntman, director, actor, and rodeo rider from the 1910s to the 1970s. Canutt worked closely with John Wayne, doubling as his stuntman and also teaching him how to do his own stunts. Some of his movies include: Hidden Valley Outlaws, Shadows on the Sage, and Gone With the Wind. When he was in charge of the stunts on a movie, he was called the "second unit director". His son, Joe Canutt became a major stuntman as well, and his dad directed his stunts in Ben-Hur in 1959, including those in the famous chariot race. He passed away in 1986 at the age of 90. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Yakima Canutt! Also, when our consignor met the legendary stuntman and asked him to sign this How the West Was Won still, Yakima replied, "Hey, that's not my stunt." [he was not in the film], but he was kind enough to sign it anyway as a favor to our consignor. Our consignor is in the movie business and he obtained this autograph in person (as mentioned above), and it is personalized to him. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are certain the signature is authentic.
