An Original Vintage Linenbacked World War I Poster (measures 35 3/4" x 56") (Learn More) They Are Giving All Will You Send Them Wheat?, the 1918 U.S. World War I (WWI) Home Front poster created by the U.S. Food Administration, and featuring Harvey Dunn artwork of a group of soldiers charging through the trenches with their rifles in hand. Artist: Harvey Dunn Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had creases, tears, and small areas of paper loss in the right 18" of the top of the poster (mostly in the top blank border, but extending 1" into the artwork, in the background above the soldiers). There were similar creases, tears, and small areas of paper loss in the left 20" of the bottom blank border and a very few creases and tears around the other parts of the edges of the poster. There was a tiny area of paper loss in the middle left of the background (2" below the bayonet on the rifle) and a few creases and scuffs scattered through the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see slight signs of the above defects (although they are not very noticeable or distracting from any normal viewing distance).
