An Original 1947 (from the first release of this movie in France) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French "Affiche" Movie Poster (23x32; measures 23 1/2" x 31" [60 x 79 cm]) (Learn More) Night and Day, the 1946 Michael Curtiz romantic musical composer biographical melodrama ("Based on the Career of Cole Porter") starring Cary Grant (as Cole Porter), Alexis Smith, Monty Woolley (who played himself; he was a real-life close personal friend of Cole Porter's), Ginny Simms, Jane Wyman, Eve Arden, Carlos Ramirez, Donald Woods, and Mary Martin. Note that the real life Cole Porter was a gay homosexual male (although he married), but this could obviously not be addressed in 1946, so the movie presents a very fictitious story of his life! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Vincent Cristellys Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had tears and areas of paper loss across the center, and some darkening and creases on the vertical fold. It had some stains in the middle of the right border. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking.
