An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 9 3/4" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) San Antonio, the 1945 David Butler Texas historical romantic cowboy western ("Warner's adventure of the century!!!"; "Warner's adventure of the century out of the century that made America famous!"; "The Alamo Flames Again! Blazing lead burns the Devil's brand off Texas!"; "'Your guns get you to San Antonio. From there on you trust to luck!'"; "A thousand thundering thrills in Warners' 'San Antonio'"; "Original Screen Play by Alan LeMay and W.R. Burnett"; "in Technicolor!") starring Errol Flynn, Alexis Smith, S.Z. Sakall (billed as "S.Z. 'Cuddles' Sakall"), Victor Francen, John Litel, and Florence Bates NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 8" x 9 3/4" [20 x 25 cm]. Also note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So it is an original still from 1945, but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good.
