5000 Danish Seamen Sailing for United Nations, the 1940s English World War II (WWII) poster announcing that 5000 Danish sailors (and Danish ships) were joining the war against the Axis powers. Note that Denmark was occupied by Germany in April of 1940, and many Danish sailors joined the allied war efforts. Over 1000 Danish merchant sailors lost their lives during the war, most to submarine attacks.

Artist: Louise Dahl-Wolfe

Condition: good to very good. There is a tear at right that has been repaired with tape from the back and there are a few light creases scattered in various areas. It is otherwise in generally nice condition.
