An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Italian Locandina Movie Poster (measures approximately 13" x 27") (Learn More) Medea, the 1969 (released in the U.S. in 1971) Pier Paolo Pasolini Italian/French/German historical Greek tragedy melodrama (based on the play by Euripides) starring Maria Callas (in the title role as Medea), Massimo Girotti, Laurent Terzieff, Giuseppe Gentile, Margareth Clementi, Annamaria Chio, and Paul Jabara. Note that star Maria Callas was a legendary opera singer. She retired in the mid 1960s and planned to marry mega rich Aristotle Onassis, but he dumped her for Jackie Kennedy, and a despondent Callas made this movie, a non-singing role, and her only movie, but it did not do well at the box office, and she made an attempt to resume her opera career, but her voice failed her.
