Date Sold 1/22/2023Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 30 Seein' Stars newspaper comic strips, in which Feg Murray caricatured current Hollywood celebrities, often including many sports figures, in the style of Robert L. Ripley's Believe It or Not. The comic strip ran from 1933 to 1951, and the items in this lot are from the 1930s. Earlier in 2022, we auctioned a group of 55 of these removed from newspapers, and those sold for $585! Those had all different celebrities and those measured 10" x 13", while these measure 6 1/2" x 8 1/2". But where can you find any of these? Included in this lot are pages covering Jean Harlow, Clara Bow, Tom Mix, Boris Karloff, Humphrey Bogart, Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Shirley Temple, W.C. Fields, and more (see our images)! Measurements: 6 1/2" x 8 1/2"Condition: good to very good. These were cut out of newspapers and have varying amounts of darkening, typical of newspaper pages of this period.
