Cronin's Hatter's Castle") Lance Comfort English romantic business adultery melodrama ("Two Great New Stars... in a Famous Author's Most Daring Love-Drama!"; "Her shame was something no one could forgive... except the man who loved her!"; from the novel by A.J. Cronin; about a tyrannical man who has a successful business, a wife, children, and a mistress, but everything comes unglued when his mistress pretends her ex-boyfriend is her stepbrother and convinces the man to hire him, and her ex-boyfriend proceeds to destroy the man's life) starring Robert Newton, James Mason, Deborah Kerr (in her fourth movie role!), Emlyn Williams, and Enid Stamp Taylor. Note that A.J. Cronin was a doctor who had health problems in 1930. He wrote a book called "Hatter's Castle" in 1931, and it was so successful that he stopped practicing medicine and wrote a series of books, all centering around doctors, including "The Citadel" and "Keys of the Kingdom", all of which were made into movies! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and fine surface paper loss in the middle of the top fold, with small tears in the left half of the bottom fold, and minor wear on the other folds and in the borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
