An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Out of the Past (released in other English-speaking countries as "Build My Gallows High"), the classic 1947 Jacques Tourneur romantic love triangle revenge crime film noir thriller ("A Man - Trying to run away from his past... A Woman - Trying to escape her future!" "'Don't try to get rid of me for another woman... ...it won't work!"'; based on the novel 'Build My Gallows High' by Daniel Mainwaring; a great story of a private investigator who is hired by a gangster to find his missing mistress, and he does so, but then he falls for her, and starts a romance with her, even though he knows he is likely signing his death warrant) starring Robert Mitchum, Jane Greer, Kirk Douglas (in his third movie role!), Rhonda Fleming, Richard Webb, Steve Brodie, Dickie Moore, Virginia Huston, Paul Valentine, and Ken Niles NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this title card from this classic film noir movie, with a wonderful image! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The card was lightly folded horizontally across the middle at one time, and it separated at the left and right ends of that fold (approximately 1" on each side). There was also a 1" tear in the left border beneath that, and someone put a piece of tape on the back of that, and also on the back of two small tears in the same area. There is a piece of clear tape on the front of the upper left border, where there was a small tear. There are creases, faint smudges, and a few small stains in the blank borders. There is tiny surface paper loss near the center of the card in the background area. In spite of these defects, the card can be displayed and enjoyed just as it is, especially since the horizontal fold is pretty light and not that distracting, and most of the other defects are in the borders. Or certainly, a talented restorer could gel-back or paperback the card, and it would look fantastic! Learn More about condition grades
