eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result d349 FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE linen one-sheet movie poster R80 Clint Eastwood Date Sold 8/16/2005Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. A 1980 Re-release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) Per Qualche Dollaro in Piu (released in the U.S. in 1967 as "For a Few Dollars More"), the classic 1965 Sergio Leone German/Italian/Spanish cowboy spaghetti western sequel ("The man with no name is back! The man in black is waiting..."; "It's the second motion picture of its kind! It won't be the last!"; "The man with no name is back! The man in black is waiting... A walking arsenal - he uncoils, strikes and kills!") starring Clint Eastwood (as Monco), Lee Van Cleef (as Col. Mortimer), Gian Maria Volonte, Mara Krupp (billed as "Mara Krup"), Luigi Pistilli, Klaus Kinski (as Juan Wild, the Hunchback), Joseph Egger (billed as "Josef Egger"), Panos Papadopulos, Benito Steffanelli, Roberto Camardiel, Aldo Sambrell, Luis Rodriguez, and Mario Brega. Note that this movie was released in December of 1965 (no doubt to qualify for awards), but most of the Italian posters from the first release are dated 1966. This same situation exists with La Dolce Vita and many other classic movies. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that there is considerable conflicting information about who created the art for this item. Some say Fred Otnes created the art, others say David Blossom, while others believe Mitchell Hooks, Ted CoConis, etc. If anyone has definitive proof about who created the art, please e-mail us. Condition: good. This poster was linenbacked, but it was either NOT linenbacked by a very talented restorer, OR it was linenbacked many years ago, and has received rough handling over the years, OR it had fairly significant defects that were not restored at all. If it was restored, you can clearly see signs of the restoration even from a distance. This is a poster that would surely benefit from additional professional restoration. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had many extra creases down the top 1/4 of the vertical foldline and some tears in-between those extra creases. There were some extra creases and small tears down the rest of the vertical foldline and some paper loss at each crossfold. The left & right 1 1/2" of the poster was folded back at one time. There were extra creases above and below the top and bottom foldlines. The poster was fairly well backed, but you can still clearly see signs of the restoration down the center of the poster, even from a distance away. Learn More about condition grades
